The E-Motive Exchange project is a project between the Netherlands, India and Ethiopia/Uganda on reduction of antibiotic use in dairy farming. The E-Motive exchange program of Oxfam Novib aims to strengthen knowledge exchange between Nederland and ‘developing countries’ – on themes related to Right to Quality Food.
The main aim of this project is to strengthen natural dairy farming, reduce antibiotic use and improved milk quality. This is done by means of knowledge exchange activities between Dutch and Ethiopian/Ugandan veterinarians and farmers related to animal health as well as animal management, with emphasis on cattle breeding.
This approach is taken because antibiotic use can only be reduced through an integrated approach with innovations in both curative and preventive animal health. Funding through Oxfam Novib, European Union, Province of Overijssel and (in Africa) Agri-ProFocus.
